Cookie Policy
Last updated: 15 September 2025
This Cookie Policy describes how Alawyer GmbH ("the Company," "we," "us," or "our"), Herrengasse 28, 2nd Floor, 8010 Graz, Austria, uses cookies and similar technologies on aiawyer.com (the "Service"). It supplements our Privacy Policy. As we serve law firms and legal professionals handling confidential client matters, we apply strict prior-consent: non-essential cookies are placed only after your explicit consent.
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files saved on your device when you visit a website. They let the site recognise your device, retain preferences, and measure usage. We also use browser local storage to retain your consent choice, plus server-side access logs for security and operations.
2. Your Consent
On your first visit to aiawyer.com, a consent banner appears at the screen's bottom. Non-essential cookies are withheld until you click "Accept all." "Necessary only" places strictly necessary cookies alone. Your choice stays in browser local storage for 12 months, then the banner appears again.
You may change your choice through the footer's "Cookie preferences" link or by contacting [email protected]. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before it.
Under the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC as amended), strictly necessary cookies are exempt from consent. They are placed whenever you use the Service, regardless of your choice.
3. Categories of Cookies We Use
| Category | Examples | Lifetime | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Session control, CSRF token, consent record | Session to 12 months | Legitimate interest and contract performance (no consent required) |
| Preferences | Language preference, interface setup | Up to 12 months | Consent |
| Analytics | Anonymised usage measurement, self-hosted or EU provider | Up to 13 months | Consent |
| Marketing | Not currently used | Not applicable | Consent (not active) |
4. Third-Party Cookies
Third-party processors, including an analytics provider, may set cookies for us. We have GDPR Art. 28 data-processing agreements with each. Third-party analytics and preference cookies activate only after consent. Where technically feasible, we choose EU-based providers or providers with adequate transfer mechanisms. Request the active sub-processor list at [email protected].
5. Managing Your Cookie Choices
- Revisit or change consent anytime via the footer's "Cookie preferences" link.
- You can block or delete cookies in browser settings. Browser instructions are at aboutcookies.org. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop the Service from working correctly.
- We respect browser opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control for analytics and marketing cookie categories.
6. Changes to This Policy
Material changes to our cookies or technologies will prompt a policy update and a new "Last updated" date, with renewed banner consent where legally required.
